A huge welcome to our class page.
What a wonderful first half term back at school!
Over the last few weeks we have been exploring place value and using lots of different resources and ways to record our work!
We have looked at biographies of famous women from the past and have written our own! Now we have started our new text 'The Tin Forest' and cannot wait to explore the jungles and forests that the old man dreams about.
We are continuing to read our first class novel 'The Boy at the Back of the Class' which has us on the edge of our seat each day!
As a class we are showing fantastic communication skills! Lets keep it up!
In today’s lesson, we learnt about the significance of the mezuzah. We were then challenged to create our own mezuzah covers based around Year 4. Inside a Jewish mezuzah is a small parchment scroll upon which the Hebrew words of the Shema are handwritten. For our work, we chose a class promise of 'be kind' and tightly rolled these to place inside our covers. After that, we attached one of our mezuzahs to the right-hand side of our class door and practised touching it as we walked into the classroom, just like Jewish people do.
We had the pleasure of our first visitor to the school this week.
Take a look at the things we got up to!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
