School Development

Our Approach to School Development at Beaconside Primary & Nursery School

At Beaconside, we believe that improving our school is an ongoing journey that requires careful planning and teamwork. When we introduce new ideas or ways of working, we follow a clear process to make sure these changes really help our pupils and staff.

We start by understanding the challenges we face, like attendance, handwriting, maths fluency, increasing parent engagement, and staff development. Then, we plan carefully how to make improvements, making sure everyone knows what to do and why it matters.

Our main focus right now includes:

Improving Attendance: We want to help more children come to school regularly because we know that good attendance is important for learning and well-being.

Handwriting Development: We are working on helping pupils improve their handwriting skills, so writing becomes easier, faster, and less frustrating.

Maths Fluency: We aim to support pupils in becoming quicker and more confident with maths facts and problem-solving.

Engaging Parents of Pupils with SEND: We want to listen more and work closely with parents and carers to make sure we provide the best support for every child.

Supporting Staff Through Coaching: We are introducing coaching to help our teachers further develop their skills and share good ideas with each other.

By following this thoughtful approach, we make sure changes are not just added on top of everything else but become part of how we work every day. This helps us create a happy, inclusive, and successful school for all our pupils.
