Communication

The School Website

The school website is one of the primary means we use for reaching all parents and providing information. Letters that are sent home will also be placed onto the school website either in the whole school section, or in the individual class page if they are specific to a class.

All school newsletters are available via the homepage in the noticeboard.

On the school website there is also a calendar detailing events taking place in school. The website offers the facility to sync this calendar with a smart phone or personal calendar. Details for how to do this are on the calendar web page.

Any information featured on the school website can be available in paper form upon request.

ScholarPack Parents App / Text Messaging

We use the ScholarPack Parents app to communicate messages to parents. In order to receive messages sent via this service parents and carers need to download the app which is available on most smartphones. It is important that parents and carers keep mobile phones numbers up to date to allow any messages sent to be received.

Reporting to Parents

Parents are offered the opportunity to attend three Parents’ Meetings per year. These are offered at the start of each term: Autumn, Spring and Summer. The meetings can be booked online with School Cloud and parents need to login at https://beaconside.schoolcloud.co.uk/.

Each child is also sent an annual report during the Summer Term detailing their progress, attainment and achievements during the academic year.

Medical Tracker

Medical Tracker is a system used by school to allow us to communicate if your child has needed to receive first aid care during the school day. Parents will receive alerts via email if first has needed to be administered

Eduspot: School Money

Beaconside Primary and Nursery is a cashless school. For all monies that needs to be sent into school, such as, school dinners, school trips, donations, after school clubs, we use a system called Eduspot: School Money. This is dowloadable via an app on smartphones or accessed via a computer. Login details for this system are available through the school office.

School Letters

Letters that do not require a response from parents, such as newsletters, will be sent via email unless a paper copy is requested.

Letters that do require a response via a reply slip will continue to be sent home in paper format.

General Enquiries

At Beaconside, we offer an open door policy. Staff are available to discuss matters at the beginning and end of the school day. Office staff are also available in the School Reception from 8:30am - 4.30pm. The senior leadership team are also available on the front gates as children enter school in the morning to answer any general enquiries.

If you need to discuss something more detailed with a member of staff then we ask that an appointment is made outside of teaching hours to accommodate this. This can be done through the office staff or speaking to the teacher directly.

The school office can also be contacted via the email address –

office@beaconside.worcs.sch.uk

Emails received at this address will then be passed to the relevant member of staff. Please note however that this email is a generic school email and is not suitable for any urgent information.

Additional Forms of Communication

For pupils with additional needs, it sometimes necessary to offer extra forms of communication. These forms of personalised communication are arranged and made in agreement with parents, pupils and school staff.
