Welcome to Year 4!
The children have settled in really quickly and have had a very good first term back. We hope you check this page regularly as we will be posting lots of great photos and information.

Maths week was a great success. The children took part in many different activities including: a maths trail, creating Viking soup using measuring and weighing, Viking Olympics, one minute challenge, problem solving and much more.
In English the children have learnt about the features of instructional texts. We are reading 'How To Train Your Dragon' by Cressida Cowell. The children have written a set of instructions on how to catch a dragon. Different learning activities have been created around the story. We have come up with a character description for their own dragon. The children have had to think about the powers that their dragon might have, as well as the appearance and a possible name.
We have also had a strong focus on punctuation, paying extra attention to the use of speech marks (inverted commas), exclamation marks and full stops. We look forward to sharing some of this work with you.
In Spanish this week Year 4 have been learning to ask, answer and write 'what is the date today'.
