During the first week of October, the British Deaf Association (BDA) run a campaign throughout the United Kingdom to encourage the public to join in, enjoy themselves and learn British Sign Language (BSL).

For the second year, Beaconside became involved and each day Mrs Murray visited a class and taught the children and staff some phrases or signs e.g. hello, what is your name? My name is.... We also learnt one of our Harvest songs in Sign Language and performed it during our harvest festival as well as holding a parents’ workshop.
