The glitz and glamour of Hollywood arrived at Beaconside in the last week before half term as we enjoyed our activity week. We took part in a range of activities which included being taught how to draw cartoons by an animator and our Year 6 children created and performed a play in a day. We also took part in a musical theatre workshop and visited the Crescent Theatre for a backstage tour and to learn how to stage fight. Our younger children enjoyed making puppets and watching a puppet show performed by Mr Mustard. On Friday it was Oscars day and we all dressed in our favourite outfits, some of us as characters from the movies and some of us as if we were attending the Oscars. We ended the week with our very own Oscars ceremony.
