| Though lying on the outskirts of Birmingham , Beaconside enjoys a semi-rural position on the northern slopes of the Lickey Hills. The school site is one of its most enviable resources comprising wooded slopes, two large playing fields, three playgrounds and a deciduous coppice of approximately one hectare. |

Other teaching facilities include: Foundation Unit, Purpose built artroom, Library and resource areas, dual purpose Hall and Gym, Information Technology Room and general teaching classrooms. The school has in addition, a Hearing-Impaired Unit fully incorporated into the life of the school. A small number of hearing impaired pupils are accommodated in normal teaching groups with specialist withdrawal facilities and trained staff. |

There is also provision for children with autism in a Mainstream Autism Base (The Blue Room). This enables the needs of a small number of children to be met by specialist staff on an individual basis and for them to be integrated into mainstream classes where appropriate. |
