Medical Information

Swine Flu Information for Parents.
ool has qualified First-Aiders available in school. If your child becomes ill during the school day you, or your appointed emergency contact person will be telephoned to collect him/her.

Any short course of medicine prescribed by a doctor should ideally be given to children at home by parents before the child returns to school. Occasionally, however, where a child is fully fit to return to school but has one or two remaining doses of medicine to take, parents are welcome to come into school at lunchtime to give their children the required dose. School staff cannot take responsibility for this.

Children should not have tablets etc. in their possession in school in case they are lost or taken by another child by mistake.

Children who suffer from Asthma and who are recommended by a doctor or parent to have a form of medication in school, should have access to such medication at all times. An up-to-date list of these children and the particular medication (including frequency, dosage etc.) is maintained in school. Please let us have full details at all times. Children who need to use such medication (e.g. inhaler) regularly during the day should have a spare one in school. This should be kept in a place where both the teacher and the pupil have ready access in case it is needed.

If you take your child out of school during school hours, for a medical appointment, or bring them back during the day after registration, would you please sign our book in the office, so that we have an accurate record of who is actually in school at any given time.
