Beaconside offers full time Nursery provision enabling children to attend from a choice of mornings, afternoons, full days or a range of sessions at times to suit.
All the sessions will be led by Mrs Williams and will provide the children with a range of experiences which can be built on and developed during their time with us. The children will access a wide range of opportunities as well as a fully qualified teacher leading our Nursery.
Children become eligible for our Nursery when they reach their birthday. For the majority of children they would start with us in the term after they turn three (September, January or April). However if places and provision allows, we are able to admit children from the start of the term that they are due to have their third birthday. This is known as 'rising threes' and would mean that a child who is three in November would be eligible to start at the beginning of the Autumn Term - i.e. September. Please note that funding for 15 free hours of Nursery provision does not start until the term after a child's third birthday.
Times of Nursery Sessions:
|Morning:||8.45 a.m.-11.45 a.m.|
|Afternoon:||12.15 p.m. - 3.15 p.m.|
|Lunchtime:||11.45 a.m. – 12.15 p.m.|
Our Starting School Programme
Parents/Carers are invited to a New Intake Meeting before your child joins us. During this meeting, the staff will share our Nursery procedures with you and provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions. We will also arrange a home visit and the children will be invited to visit the school for two taster sessions.
Free Hours and Charging
Every 3 year old is eligible for Government funding for 15 hours per week; this begins the term after your child’s third birthday. A charge is made for any child who attends over 15 hours per week.
First 15 hours (5 x 3 hour sessions) – free
Additional session rate - £10.00 per session
Lunchtime - £1.00
For example a child who attended every morning and then for 3 additional lunchtime/afternoon sessions would be eligible for the morning sessions free and then would be charged for the 3 afternoons @ £11 per additional session, totalling £33 per week for 24 hours attendance.
The most important people as far as your children are concerned are our staff, who are all dedicated and caring, with a wealth of experience. Our Nursery is led by a qualified teacher who works alongside Nursery Assistants who hold a level 3 (or higher) qualification. All staff have a paediatric first aid qualification, and additional training is available for all staff to continue their professional development, keep up with new initiatives and to consolidate their areas of expertise.
